I used to some 30 years ago at the ages of 13/15, sketch horses-heads
with "charcoal", but several years later binned them thinking no more
of it..."the crazy things we do when we're teens!" |
|
However, for some time I have wanted to draw or paint pictures of the
bassets, and decided that the image of Sophie would be a good start. |

| On the left side is a pastel
drawing of an (Affenpinscher) mother & pup. |
|
The Affenpinscher is German in
origin, which dates back to the seventeenth century and is a toy
breed. It has a rough coat and a monkey-like
expression, (Affe means monkey in Germany). |
| It's coat is
shaggier over the head and shoulders forming a mane, but a much
shorter coat over the back and hind quarters. It is harsh and wiry in
texture. |
| I thought that a
shaggy-coat and background-scenery would be a challenge to broaden my
horizons! |
